The Mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires.

The Mediocre teacher tells.  The good teacher explains.  The superior teacher demonstrates.  The great teacher inspires.
- William Arthur Ward

We all should be teachers in everything we do.  Whether it be to our kids, to the new guy or girl at the office, to the next door neighbor, or even the stranger on the street; we all should try to teach something to others.

But teaching is more than just "telling", or even more than "explaining", and even more than "demonstrating"; true teaching is inspiring someone to learn.  True teaching can change behavior in wayward individuals; it can make someone's day a little brighter; it can even make someone's life better.

Imagine seeing the cranky person today (we all know who they are).  Instead of avoiding that person because they bring you down, imagine when you meet them, giving them a smile and a true compliment.  Maybe, just maybe, it will brighten their day and they in turn will not be so cranky - that is true teaching - inspiring!

Three Simple Rules in Life

Today's saying caught my eye as it is so simplistic.  Due to its simplistic nature, I am not going to comment any further but, instead, let you think about it.  BUT, after you read it and think about it - GO DO IT!

Rise above the storm and you will find sunshine - Mario Fernandez

How many times has life thrown you a curve ball?  Everything is going good, or at least OK, and then "BAM", from out of nowhere it seems you are sucker punched (figuratively speaking - or if you had a former career like mine, maybe literally?).

Remember the recession we are just now coming out of?  Of course you do, who couldn't remember losing 25 - 50 percent (or more in some markets) of your homes value?  Millions out of work, some of the largest numbers of individuals drawing unemployment.  Now that I got you depressed thinking about a few years ago, let me ask you a question; did some people prosper?  Of course some people prospered even during the storm.

Some individuals rose above the storm and saw the sunshine.  They literally refused to participate in the recession.  In the real estate market, investors purchased foreclosed upon homes at 1970's pricing and currently receive 2017 rents; tell me that isn't sunshine!  Smart investors saw the decline on the real estate market as a perfect time to "buy low" and potentially "sell high", but not until after they make some money monthly on rental income.

Rise above the storms of life (career, money, family); seek the sunshine above the storm.
